Senior Employment Tax Professional

A vacancy has arisen in this highly successful Employer Solutions team in Scotland. In this role you will own and lead employment tax consulting projects, and work with the existing Partner team to further develop business opportunities. If you are a motivated self-starter then this is a fantastic career opportunity to develop your skills.

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Drafting technically complex work and reviewing the work of others (complex Revenue correspondence, legislative issues, due diligence).
• Managing the employment taxes end of year compliance processes in respect of the preparation of Forms P11D/PAYE Settlement Agreements the compliance process and monitoring deadlines/payment dates;
• Dealing with day-to-day client and Revenue queries and correspondence;
• Developing effective relationships with new colleagues and clients;
• Actively identifying and developing a network of contacts internally and externally;
• Actively targeting and evaluating opportunities for selling work, and being a key player in the proposal process;
• Taking an active role in the coaching and mentoring of junior team members;
• Leading and managing teams with respect to project work including onsite client reviews;
• Awillingness to be able to work across functions when appropriate i.e. International Mobility/Expat where required; and
• Participating in both internal and external meetings through relevant preparation/presentation of both the employment taxes technical and other non-technical matters.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

• a relevant professional qualification – ACA, Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course, legal qualification or CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA);
• extensive employment tax / PAYE / NIC experience;
• client focus;
• organisational skills and the ability to multi-task;
• ability to work in a team;
• influencing and negotiation skills;
• strong time management skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines in a pressurised environment; and
• commercial awareness and enthusiasm to help develop and grow business going forwards
