Interim Tax Accountant, East Midlands

The role:

An opportunity now exists for a Tax Accountant to join this established tax department. Reporting to the Head of Tax, with a dotted line to the Group Reporting Manager, you will assume responsibility for the following:

Corporation Tax

* Period and year end corporation and deferred tax provisioning calculations and supporting schedules, which will be used to prepare the tax notes in the statutory accounts for the individual companies and the consolidated accounts for the business.
* Preparation of corporation tax returns and computations, for review by the Head of Tax, taking account of all available tax reliefs and possible restrictions on tax planning
* Periodic calculations to estimate the quarterly corporation tax instalments due to HMRC, using the latest financial information and CT legislation available.
* Statutory and financial accounting for the company and its subsidiaries

VAT

* Quarterly or monthly preparation of VAT returns for all of VAT registrations.
* Periodic calculations to verify the monthly Payments on Account requested by HMRC.
* Working with finance colleagues to ensure funds are available to pay the VAT due to HMRC at the right time.

Other taxes

* Employment taxes and ad hoc project work

About You:

* Suitable candidates will be proven self-starters, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take ownership of your business area. Candidates will be available to start in March 2016 but there may be flexibility on this.
