The Employment Tax Manager plays a pivotal role within the Tax department within Grant Thornton UK LLP. The successful candidate will cover the Eastern Seaboard. This will cover primarily the Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich offices as part of the Grant Thornton Central Region.
As part of the award winning National Employer Solutions Team, you will be developing opportunities within the existing broad ranging and dynamic client base and to identify and develop new employment tax related opportunities in the above market place.
The Manager must demonstrate depth of technical knowledge of UK tax and apply this knowledge to develop solutions to complex technical issues.
Main Responsibilities
• You will demonstrate strong technical employment taxes knowledge and experience, ideally including payroll consulting (advisory and compliance) and/or share schemes
• Experience of work on designing and implementing salary sacrifice schemes would be preferable
• Building client relationships and being the main point of contact to enable client issues to be identified and appropriate solutions to be provided
• Leading relevant negotiations/interactions with relevant external bodies such as HMRC
Education and Qualifications
• ATT or CTA qualification or equivalent would be highly desirable
• Technical employment taxes knowledge
• Ability to coach and develop junior members of the team
