Purpose of the Role:

Our clients Tax Team is looking for a Tax Knowledge Manager who will work with the Head of Tax Technical to support the firm`s people in their ability to win and deliver profitable tax services, and to enhance the reputation of the firm as a leading part of the tax profession.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

The role of Tax Knowledge Manager offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who is knowledgeable in and passionate about tax to make a significant contribution to the development of the quality and breadth of services provided to clients, the knowledge and expertise of the tax team, and the reputation of the firm in the market.

The firm`s clients consist of private individuals, owner-managed businesses, large corporates, and non-profit organisations. The Tax Knowledge Manager will be expected to have a good understanding of the key elements of the UK tax code that will be of relevance to these clients (with the possible exception of VAT and customs duties), and the ability and desire to research and understand certain areas in detail as required.

The Tax Knowledge Manager will not be directly client facing, but will need to be able to communicate effectively, in a variety of ways, with those within the firm.

The Tax Knowledge Manager will be expected to manage and make progress on various different tasks on an ongoing basis.

The key requirements of the role will entail the following (either alone or as part of a wider team):

-Keeping abreast of tax issues and developments that are of relevance to the firm`s clients and identifying where there is a need or opportunity to communicate details of these either internally or externally.
-Producing tax-related content for internal circulation (including detailed technical bulletins, newsletters etc.) and various external purposes (including website content, flyers, email alerts, press comments, articles etc.).
-Developing templates, precedents, checklists etc. for use in the provision of client services.
-Drafting responses to HMT/HMRC calls for evidence and consultations on matters relevant to the firm`s client base.
-Playing a part in the development and delivery of internal tax training.
-Contributing to the development of tax risk management and quality control procedures and processes within the business.
-Developing, enhancing, and maintaining the firm`s internal tax knowledge database.

You will ideally be CTA qualified with previous experience of working in professional services - This is a great opportunity to use your experience and move into doing something different
