Global IM / AM business looking to recruit a Senior Tax Manager for a 9 -12m maternity leave cover.


Your new role

Day to day tasks and responsibilities of the role:

* Oversight and management of the Assistant Tax Manager regarding non-US global tax compliance reporting and payment obligations (including corporate tax, partnership tax, and VAT, where applicable) for the corporate group - relevant jurisdictions include UK, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Guernsey, South Korea, and Japan.
* Oversight and management of the Assistant Tax Manager regarding non-US global tax compliance reporting and payment obligations (including corporate tax, partnership tax, VAT, FATCA and/or CRS) and investor tax reporting obligations for the funds - relevant jurisdictions include UK. Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Guernsey, Cayman Islands, Denmark, and US.
* Working with group partners and advisors to facilitate UK tax compliance reporting obligations relating to the UK LLP and other group related interests such as interests in carry vehicles and GP commitment..
* Working with investment teams on non US fund/investment tax issues and keeping investment teams updated on new tax developments which may have an impact on our funds, investment structures and investors..
* Provide tax updates to the Luxembourg and Guernsey board of directors.
* Review of group tax consolidation calculations on a quarterly basis to group Finance and AMG - relevant jurisdictions include US, UK, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, South Korea, Japan, and Ireland.
* Review of preparation of UK, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Japan and Ireland tax provisions for inclusion in audited financial statements for group corporate group entities.
* Provide support to HR and payroll teams on employment tax related members, including IR35, PAYE, staff secondments, and staff relocations.
* Monitor tax legislative updates in relevant jurisdictions that the group operate in, and review the groups business considering these changes to ensure compliance. This also involves writing non-US tax updates in quarterly "Legal, Regulatory, and Tax Updates" newsletter.
* Conduct tax risk analysis of relevant UK tax legislation (including new or amended tax legislations), including UK salaried members reviews, corporate criminal offence reviews, and income-based carried interest rules.
* Responsibility for reviews of new and existing overseas activities from a permanent establishment and substance perspective.
* Provide input on tax issues regarding business proposals that may arise (e.g. setting up new office, Brexit planning, restructuring etc.).
* Main point of contact for non-US tax related matters including supporting Investor Relations and Investment teams with ad-hoc tax queries from investors / GPs.
* Manage relationships with external tax advisors across various jurisdictions engaged to provide tax services for the corporate group, funds, and group partners.

What you'll need to succeed

Skills and abilities which are essential to the role including formal education and professional and/or technical qualifications required:

* Formal education up to Bachelor's degree is required
* A professional accounting and/or tax qualification (e.g. ACA or CTA with exposure to UK corporate, partnership, and personal tax) with a minimum of 8 years PQE is required
* International tax experience
* Having leadership qualities and capable of managing and directing more junior team members
* Excellent communication skills with confidence in communicating with senior Pantheon partners and employees
* Assist the Head of Tax in matters of tax policy and strategy for the Pantheon
* Ability to work on own initiative, manage workload, and work to tight deadlines/under pressure with minimum supervision
* High level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and judgment
* Excellent team player, strong relationship building and influencing skills
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Office, including Excel
