Group Tax Analyst

An exciting opportunity to join a FTSE 100 retailing business as a Group Tax Analyst, where you will be primarily supporting in the delivery of Group Tax reporting requirements and UK focused direct tax compliance. The role will also provide valuable opportunities to assist the tax team in supporting delivery of business advisory projects and transfer pricing support.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance

* Tax analysis in all areas of Group taxation, primarily direct tax
* Forecasting, budgeting, and critical analysis of results thereon
* All aspects of tax reporting, including both internally and externally facing obligations
* UK tax compliance for selected entities
* Other UK compliance such as group relief, corporate interest restriction, CbCR, etc
* Management and optimisation of the UK cash tax payment cycle
* Assisting with tax authority queries

Tax Advisory

* Assist with evaluating international business initiatives including new market entries and expansions
* Support on specific transfer pricing projects and regulatory/legislatively driven tax projects including BEPS 2.0, Pillar 1 and Pillar 2.
* General tax advisory including withholding taxes and permanent establishment risk
* Tax training and general tax technical support to tax personnel across the group

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

* ACA/ACCA or CTA qualified
* Accountancy firm or industry trained, with UK corporate tax background
* Strong academic record
* Good communicator
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
* Highly analytical
* Excellent team player
* Good understanding of tax accounting and tax reporting requirements
* Sound tax technical knowledge, ideally UK
* Eagerness to learn
