Role Summary:
This is an EMEA tax advisory focused role which assists front office business teams on new products and transactions as well as having potential opportunties to work on global projects with the wider tax teams. It also involves advising on the tax impact of firm wide projects and initiatives. You can also get involved with other tax projects such as tax authority challenges, tax litigation and implementation of new tax law.
Job Responsibilities:
* Co-ordination with external advisers and global tax colleagues regarding cross-border / global transactions and initiatives.
* Monitoring changes in tax law and analysing impact on businesses.
* Developing and monitoring internal controls to manage tax risk.
* provision of tax advice on transactions and products
* provision of tax input to internal approvals processes for new businesses
* advise on the tax implications of projects and business initiatives (including acquisitions and restructures)
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
* Professional qualification (Accountant/Lawyer/CTA) or equivalent.
* Financial services tax experience preferred but not essential (e.g. in another bank, accountancy or law firm).
* Preferably working on a commercial tax team either in practice or in-house.
* Flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing demands resulting from tax and business changes.
* Motivated with a 'hands on' and proactive attitude.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders, including the business and senior management.
* Ability to deliver complex tax advice in a clear and precise commercial manner.
