The Opportunity

As part of its growth strategy, the business is now looking to appoint an ambitious Direct Tax Manager to provide advanced corporate tax compliance services to a portfolio of Vistra clients to include preparation and review of direct tax computations and ad hoc advisory projects working across multiple sectors, including Technology, Property/Real Estate, and Private Equity in various corporate, GP and LP structures. Mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team, you will also proactively identify Direct Tax service offerings and opportunities and be responsible for selling such activities across the Vistra client network.

Scope

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of corporate tax clients with varying levels of complexities and gain exposure to a vast range of clients from OMBs to UK PLCs to large US headquartered corporates.
As one of a team of 7, all striving to deliver a best-in-class service, you will be based out of Vistra’s Reading office with flexibility to split your time between working remotely and from the office itself.

You will:

• Share responsibility for management of direct reports in the Service delivery team.
• Deliver and sign out compliance services on the full range of applicable Direct Tax matters to clients.
• Be responsible for the identification of potential tax projects requiring technical Direct Tax advice and refer them to the Tax Advisory team where appropriate.
• Proactively identify Direct Tax service offerings and opportunities and work with internal resources to promote and sell such offerings to existing and prospective clients across the Vistra network.

Experience

CTA and/or ACA qualified with at least 2 years PQE, you will have detailed knowledge and working experience of Direct Tax in the UK across various sectors (real estate and financial services would be beneficial). With a strong track record on technical tax matters in a client-based environment, you will be an aspiring future leader able to work effectively and collaboratively across the business.
