You will be working for this established and well regarded CA firm who offer a full range of accountancy services, including audit, business services, advisory and taxation, to clients across a broad range of sectors. The firm are growing and are looking for ambitious and driven tax professionals to join them on a permanent basis.
Your new role
You will be working with the wider Entrepreneurial Tax team, our sector teams, and CRM group and reporting to the Head of Entrepreneurial Taxes. You will be keen to progress your career and this includes the option to take further specialist tax exams.You will keep up to date with the latest share scheme and venture capital scheme changes and will reflect on how those changes may impact clients.
You will be involved in a number of specialist areas which include; seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) / Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) Advance Assurance and qualifying status, SEIS/EIS Compliance Statements and liaison with HMRC, advising on the impact of new funding/changes in a business on the SEIS/EIS position, Implementing employee share option schemes such as Enterprise Management Incentive (EMI) and Company Share Option Plans (CSOP), as well as direct share issues including Growth Shares & Flowering Shares, with valuation work being absolutely critical to this. You will also be involved in structuring share incentives to meet clients' specific needs, assisting with internal valuation memoranda and wider corporate matters, including queries as part of diligence, employment Related Securities advice including the impact of making s431 elections and employment Related Securities (ERS) annual reporting.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others, have experience in entrepreneurial tax work, as listed above, and be willing to learn and develop these skills further. You should have strong report writing skills and be able to distil complex tax issues into a format that stakeholders without specialist tax knowledge can understand and be experienced in liaising with professional advisers and clients. Ideally you will be CA and/or CTA qualified
