This is a hybrid role with our office based in the Old Street / Shoreditch area.

The company is a global game developer and publisher built on a unique co‑ownership model. We give studios a stake in the business and a leadership role in strategic decision‑making, whilst preserving their creative independence, enabling them to make fun and commercially successful games appealing to a wide audience.

We're proud to be among the winners of "Best Places to Work 2022 UK" by GamesIndustry.Biz! We're excited to continue the journey with our team and to keep on building an amazing workplace.

Backed by a first financing round of US$120M, the group has seven founding members: A44, Alpha Channel, Awaceb, Ebb Software, Shapefarm, Sloclap, and Timberline.

With our HQ based in London and an operational hub in Singapore, the group now represents an international team of over 300 talents spanning 10 countries. Our support and leadership team has vast gaming industry experience along with a proven track record of financing, marketing, and working alongside developers to bring great games to market at scale.

We have some great benefits to take advantage of, including the potential to join a stock option plan, private health care and life insurance. We intend to expand the list of benefits as the Company grows and matures.

About the role

The finance team is looking to grow and with this early mover advantage you will be able to help set things up in the best way possible, help create processes and drive the way we do things. We need someone who has worked across a variety of practice and / or in-house tax practice areas, who will be comfortable owning and running all areas of tax in a growing company. As well as all tax compliance, it is key that the role also manages, develops and implements tax strategy for the group. This role will suit both someone from a multidisciplinary tax practice background looking to make their first move into industry who is ready to take on all areas of tax at once, or someone with experience in-house who has already done the same kind of role, looking to step up to run the function.

It is likely the role will also take on responsibility for treasury as time goes on, depending on the candidate and level. This role will report to the CFO, and will interact with the FP&A and control functions, as well as the wider team and studios, especially in being the day to day contact with the game studio finance teams. As well as the head office structure this role will liaise with the studios covering thirteen tax jurisdictions in total (so far).

This will suit someone who wants to get stuck in and get involved with a company with set strategic aims in a relatively tight timeframe, do a bit of everything, but be able to ask for help or advice when needed. If the opportunity to help develop a finance function in its early stages from a well-funded starting point excites you please get in touch!

Excitement lies in the unknown…
