Job purpose

To manage the provision of the internal partner tax services and provide employment tax advice to the Group. For the avoidance of doubt, this is role does not involve interaction with external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for managing the partner tax compliance cycle, including but not limited to:

* Managing the team to ensure completion of all tax returns for engaged clients in a tax cycle
* Considering the tax implications of partner matters including share unit awards and pension contributions
* Communicating changes in the process to partners

* Lead on:

* implementing MTD and the necessary process changes
* liaising with National Tax and other areas of the business
* Reporting requirements including the Trust Registration Service
* IHT planning

* Lead on dealing with employment tax matters including:

* the tax overview of the P11D and PAYE settlement processes, (which are run within the finance team) and review and approval of the returns
* the tax implications short term business visitors and internationally mobile employees
* ensuring changes in legislation and interpretations are considered proactively
* ad hoc queries

* Lead on the tax aspects of the partner pay process and delivery to the compliance team of information for the LLP tax returns
* Maintain up to date procedure notes
* Assess and mitigate risk in line with the Group's risk appetite
* Ad hoc projects as agreed

Key Skills and Experience

* Significant experience gained within the profession and/or financial services
* Clear communicator
* Solid tax technical knowledge
* Ability to embrace change proactively
* Ability to coordinate, build and support the team

Professional Qualifications and Education

* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA/) and/or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)
