Corporate tax manager
Maidenhead, Berkshire or Chipping Sodbury, near Bristol

Hanson is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of construction materials, employing over 3,500 people and operating around 300 manufacturing plants and is part of the HeidelbergCement Group, which has leading global positions in aggregates, cement and concrete. The materials and products we make underpin our communities and are used in some of the country’s most innovative and iconic structures.

Our aim is to be a leading sustainable business and industry leader on the path to carbon-neutrality, trusted and respected for the ethics we adopt and the products we supply.

We are seeking a corporate tax manager to join our busy tax department of seven people based at our UK head office in Maidenhead, preferably, or at our Chipping Sodbury office, near Bristol.

Responsible for corporate tax compliance and reporting on a number of trading and corporate entities, as well as providing transaction support across our UK operations, this wide-ranging role offers scope for excellent professional development to those looking for a challenge.

Working across all corporate tax areas – including tax risk management and governance, transfer pricing, capital allowances and UK group planning – you will also provide, with developmental support as required, a high-level tax review of non-CT tax returns prepared by our UK finance team as well as transaction and project support across all taxes in domestic and international tax matters.

Successful applicants must have corporate tax experience, preferably from a mid/large tax firm, or in-house. An organised approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage projects and multiple deadlines is also essential. Applicants will already have a tax qualification/ACA and good overall tax awareness; however ambitious or exceptional development candidates will also be considered.

Our remuneration package includes a salary of up to £58k and bonus scheme, depending on experience and location, and a range of benefits including 27 days holiday, a leading contributory pension scheme and holiday purchase scheme – plus on-going training and development opportunities to help further your career.
