International Tax Senior Manager - Luxembourg

An exciting opportunity to join a market leading e-commerce company working as an International Tax Senior Manager to support its European business operations. This role is on a fixed term basis and the duration of the contract will be 6-9 months with an immediate start date. Ideally, the candidate will be in Luxembourg, however they can also be in Germany or other neighbouring countries that would allow the person to commute to the Amazon Lux office as required (can be up to 3 days per week)

Primary Duties Include:

Planning and Execution:

* Researching advanced international tax issues - working with tax authorities and outside advisors as necessary, supporting EU business initiatives.
* Assisting with developing and evaluating European planning opportunities.
* Assisting with developing strategic and operational implementation work plans and ability to measure results against plans.
* Implement agreed-upon European tax strategies and projects.
* Reviewing financial data for proper application of tax laws and advising on development and maintenance of accounting systems which provide tax information.
* Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future European tax laws, rulings and procedures.

Controversies:

* Managing relationships with tax authorities on an ongoing basis.
* Managing and coordinating European tax audits including audit preparation, responding to document requests, meetings with tax authorities, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

* Degree in Law or Accounting - Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) or graduate degree in taxation preferred.
* Extensive experience in international income tax across either a public accounting firm, major law firm, and/or in industry, preferably in a multinational corporation.
* Strong understanding of European tax law.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Fluent English

* Understanding of accounting concepts preferred.
* Detail-orientated individual who takes ownership of projects.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management.
* Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
* Work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to extract, analyse, and review data and make appropriate recommendations.
* Another European language is nice to have.
* Excellent MS Office skills.
