Compliance Support Officer, HMRC, Nottingham / WFH

Do you have good communication skills and an interest in admin support?

If this sounds like you, then you could be a great Compliance Support Officer here at HMRC.

What will you be doing?

You will support compliance caseworkers and senior colleagues while they carry out their day to day duties. This may include supporting the investigation of offences against the tax systems.

You will provide a wide range of admin support duties including accessing relevant IT systems to collate information or data. In some instances, you will be required to work collaboratively with support staff colleagues to deliver a specific task or activity.

The majority of work you will help to support will be desk-based, however there may be some travel required if you are assisting face to face meetings with taxpayers.

Working patterns

● 37 hours per week, covering various working arrangements 7am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday.
● This includes weekends, evenings and some bank holidays.
● Part-time working opportunities (minimum 22 hours per week covering various patterns during our opening times) can be considered but business need will dictate whether your request can be accommodated.

What do we need from you?

You don’t need any qualifications tax knowledge in order to apply, but you’ll have an interest in admin support and have the following qualities:

● Strong communication skills – written and verbal, enabling you to effectively document and communicate outcomes
● Analytically minded - you will enjoy critical thinking, data and information analysis, research, communication and problem solving
● Focused - able to follow processes and guidance ensuring quality standards are adhered to
● Eager to learn - capable of developing the required level of skills to enable you to successfully perform your role
● Team player - able to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across HMRC
