Your new company

You will be working with a leading asset management firms and provider of global investment management, risk management and advisory services to institutional, intermediary and individual investors around the world. Their clients can access investment solutions through a variety of product structures, including individual and institutional separate accounts, mutual funds and other pooled investment vehicles, and the industry-leading iShares® ETFs. The Global Indirect Tax Group is responsible for managing the VAT, GST and other indirect tax affairs. This includes managing group indirect tax policy, strategy, risk, compliance and accounting.

Your new role

Sitting within the firm's Global Indirect Tax Group, this role will play a critical part in supporting the indirect tax compliance and accounting affairs for the firm's global business. The role will principally involve the preparation of VAT returns and indirect tax returns across the EMEA, LATAM and APAC regions. The role offers the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external; provide thought leadership across indirect tax processes, controls and use of tax technology; support with tax audits; be involved in a variety of project work - both indirect tax specific and firm-wide.

Within this varied role you will be responsible for; preparation, completion and filing of VAT, GST and other indirect tax returns for multiple regions (excluding UK), Indirect tax accounting, including: posting adjustments to the general ledger; ensuring prompt resolution of any accounting issues; completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations; responding to queries from external auditors, Supporting with tax audits, and responses to tax authority requests, Actively contributing to the development and enhancement of indirect tax processes and controls, Responding to indirect tax queries from business groups, external advisers and other stakeholders, Enhancing knowledge of indirect tax across the business and providing guidance to business groups, Supporting with project work, both indirect tax specific and the indirect tax aspects of wider organisational initiatives and supporting indirect tax technology initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of 3 years' continuous experience working in VAT, an ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, an ability to develop a network and collaborative working relationships across multiple teams internally, and with external tax advisors, be highly organised, strong attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage multiple work streams to ensure all deadlines are met, a team player, with an ability to adjust to change and the desire to take on responsibility and strong problem solving and analytical skills.

You will hold a professional qualification such as CTA/ATT/CA/ACA, or equivalent, qualified, have experience working in Financial Services and/or a multinational organisation advantageous, experience of Oracle preferred, but not essential and be competent in use of Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced formulas and pivot tables.
