Tax Accountant - Global Bank

An exciting opportunity to join a a leading business in the Banking industry as a Tax Accountant.

This is a broad role, requiring a combination of a high level of technical knowledge, good organizational skills and an ability to liaise across various business and support groups to achieve a variety of aims and objectives.

The responsibilities include:

* Assisting with the tax notes, including reviewing draft financial statements to ensure accuracy of numbers and appropriateness of financial statement disclosures
* Provide expertise in incorporating any tax disclosure requirements
* Provide expertise in incorporating changes in tax reporting standards
* Preparation of tax provisions for the month end, quarter end and year-end close process
* Preparation of all journal entries relating to corporation tax and VAT
* Preparation of draft corporation tax returns
* Calculating and ensuring all tax payments are made on timely basis
* Preparation of VAT returns, including partial exemption calculation
* Preparation of the UK Bank Levy balance sheet

The role requires:

* A working knowledge of UK corporate tax
* A working knowledge of VAT, in particular partial exemption for financial services
* Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills to be able to juggle competing priorities
* Excellent communication & presentation skills to provide guidance to the local and Head Office finance teams on specific issues
* The development and maintenance of good relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to effectively communicate recommendations
* Excellent excel, word and power point skills to support the high quality deliverables required
