Position: Tax Manager, Real Estate

Role Responsibilities:

Providing support, assistance and/or oversight of the tax aspects of real estate fund structuring and transactions - This would be for a broad range of regulated platforms (Germany, Luxembourg, UK, Singapore etc) and clients (Asian pensions funds, Korean funds etc), and in any of the jurisdictions in which the firm invests. This would involve instructing and coordinating external tax advisors, reviewing their advice and working alongside fund finance staff to implement it.
Tax compliance monitoring and review in all jurisdictions in which the firm operates, both within the firm's corporate group and its funds, including FATCA/CRS reporting and MDR/DAC6.
Assistance in the implementation of group transfer pricing policy and coordinating updates.
Assessing the impact of new legislative changes on the group's operations and investments.
Ad hoc tax assistance on anything affecting the business, such as VAT issues, employment tax matters, carried interest structures etc.

Key requirements:

Knowledge of and experience with cross-border real estate fund structures, preferably involving a broad spectrum of types and geographies, with some familiarity (but not necessarily expertise) of the corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, tax residence etc issues surrounding their establishment and operation.
Familiarity with the regulatory aspects of such structures would be beneficial.
Experience in corporate tax and/or VAT compliance.
Some familiarity with personal tax issues affecting a global funds business, not limited to global mobility issues and carried interest structuring.
The role will involve working alongside a variety of finance, treasury and investment professionals in each of the jurisdictions in whichthe firm operates. An ability to clearly communicate tax issues and concepts to non-tax professionals is therefore essential.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Chartered Tax Advisor (or equivalent)
