Regional Tax Manager Europe (Flexible location - Poland, Netherlands, Greece, Romania)

Our client is a UK headquartered multinational company with operations that 34 span countries on five continents. We are recruiting a Tax Manager / Senior Manager (around a minimum of 8 years’ tax experience) to effectively join the HQ Team but be based in Continental Europe. There is a great deal of flexibility in terms of where this person can be located and, post Covid, it is likely you will travel to various locations (when necessary) to partner with the businesses, build relationships, implement a wide variety of projects & look for ways to add value. Possible locations are Poland, Greece, the Netherlands, Romania, plus other locations (including Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia).

The company operates in an evolving industry and is a company going through a major transformation. This means we need someone who embraces technology (and change) and who can become a key part of the transformation process.

We need to find someone with proven regional direct & indirect tax skills (not someone with experience of just one jurisdiction); able become a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across the region; work with local finance (preparing tax comps in each country); deal with tax controversy; manage relationships with external advisers; and look for ways to make savings / add value.

There are many projects to be involved on including legal entity rationalisation, joint ventures, implementing new tax controls, taking ownership of TP issues and assessing possible impacts of OECD developments. All this means that we need someone who is both a ‘hands-on’ project completer and a strategic adviser. It also requires strong English language skills.
