Accountancy Practice and Tax recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with a leading and extremely well-regarded firm of chartered accountants who are now looking to recruit an experienced and driven Corporate Tax Senior to join the tax team in their Manchester office.

As a Corporate Tax Senior, your role will see you having responsibility for your own diverse portfolio of clients which will include businesses from an array of industry sectors
including property and the motor industry among others. You will wok with a variety of clients, primarily focusing on large groups whilst also including some large corporate stand-alone limited companies.

Whilst the role will be focused towards compliance work, there will be plenty of scope for the successful individual to gain exposure to tax planning and advisory work, working closely with Senior Management and Partners on advisory projects.

The successful candidate will enjoy a challenging and varied role and will be involved in the provision of all aspects of corporate tax compliance for their designated clients.

As a senior within the team, you will also have involvement with supervising and assisting in the development of more junior staff, providing guidance to them where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience of working in either a solely corporate tax focused role, or in a mixed tax role where the weighting has been primarily towards corporation tax. Ideally, the successful individual will have experience of having direct contact with FDs of large corporate entities and dealing with tax aspects of large groups.

This position could be undertaken on either a full or part time basis (3 or 4 days per week).

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparation of more complex corporation tax returns, often for groups, international or larger clients of the firm
Reviewing corporation tax returns prepared in the general practice and providing ad hoc support to accounting personnel on tax queries and issues as required
Assisting Managers with the full breadth of tax planning projects; for example, business structuring and reconstructions, corporation tax reliefs/exemptions, employment incentives and share rewards, EIS and SEIS funding structures, wealth structuring and inheritance tax mitigation, due diligence on buying and selling companies
Dealing with routine correspondence to and from HMRC, by letter and phone

Skills:

ACCA/ACA or CTA Qualified
CTA Part Qualified individuals will be considered
