As part of the firm's expansion plans, it is looking to recruit a motivated VAT Assistant or Senior, with the view to provide one to one mentoring and support from an experienced VAT Partner. Given this, there is a clear progression route for the successful applicant, and the offering of study support.

Your new role
Your new role will consist of supporting the provision of comprehensive VAT advice to clients and being a subject matter expert internally for any queries from colleagues across various services lines. This will involve developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, carrying out VAT registration and de-registrations, completing option to tax declarations, drafting advisory correspondence and supporting the implementation of Making Tax Digital. You will regularly attend client meetings alongside Managers and Partners and complete necessary research and administration, for example in relation to partial exemptions and capital good schemes.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have a strong academic background (2:1 minimum) with either a background in VAT, Corporate Tax or General Practice Accounting. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with a new-found passion for Indirect Tax, who wishes to carve out a brilliant and supported career within VAT. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, as well a good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
