Michael Page are currently partnering with a brilliant accountancy practice based just outside of Southampton who are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join them. The role would be very well suited to someone coming up to qualification looking to make a more or an established senior who wants to diversify their client exposure and gain more wide ranging experience.

Description

The Tax Senior role will entail:

Ensuring the completion of personal and partnership Tax Returns as allocated to you, on a timely basis within the procedures set, to ensure that they are completed efficiently.

Ensuring that clients are contacted and reminded to forward the appropriate information required. You will also be required to liaise with other departments within the business, H M Revenue & Customs and third parties.

Ensuring that the client's tax liability is correctly calculated and the client is advised accordingly.

Being proficient at written and verbal communication (telephone, email, meetings and letter), as direct client contact will be a key part of the role.

Assisting in reviewing the work of more junior staff.

Liaising with your manager as to progress on your allocation of Tax Returns and other tasks that you are working on.

Liaising with potential new clients.

Using standard letters on the computer and prepare ad-hoc letters as required.

Preparing other types of Returns, such as Trust Returns, as necessary.

Assisting with technical projects and any other duties, as delegated by your manager. Training will be provided as required and agreed by your manager.


Profile

The ideal candidate for this Tax Senior role:

This role requires tax experience. It would ideally suit someone who has attained the ATT and CTA qualification; however, the CTA qualification is not essential as long as the individual has a minimum of three to four years of tax experience.

A team player is required as the role entails active participation in the tax team, in addition to being able to work on their own with limited guidance.

The candidate will need to have an organised and methodical approach to tasks and perform the tasks required to a standard where they are complete and correct. They will also require the ability to manage a number of tasks at one time.

Excellent communication skills will be needed, together with the ability to build relationships with clients.

Prior knowledge of Iris Accountancy software would be an advantage.
