The majority of the role will be transactions/deals focused and the successful candidate would help identify tax risks, develop new business opportunities, implement new investment products, and assist with the group's strategy and policies on tax. This is very much an international role, as the firm have established a number of investment platforms in geographies across the world.

* Liaising with investment teams to ensure that tax and tax risks are appropriately reflected in transaction models and investment proposals.
* Working with legal teams to provide tax input into legal drafting of transaction documents
* Providing support to investment teams on tax matters arising from its investment portfolio, e.g. restructurings and refinancing's, and assisting with divestments and divestment preparation.
* Managing external tax advisers on transactions.

Tax Operations and Compliance

* Act as a tax business partner on UK and international tax issues including providing advice on the group's international growth strategy and to plan and manage direct tax exposures in relation to permanent establishment risk and transfer pricing
* Monitor and evaluate key tax risks for the business and develop appropriate risk management controls and processes to achieve governance, compliance and control.
* Develop and manage relationships with key personnel within the business and ensure they understand the strategy and to guide behaviour within controls framework.
* Oversight and management of UK and international direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations.

The Candidate

* A qualified accountant or chartered taxation adviser with 3 - 5 years' post-qualification tax experience.
* Experience of advising on and structuring private equity or M&A.
* Tax knowledge with proven reviewing, negotiating and drafting skills.
* Commercial mindset and a proven ability to explain tax issues and risks clearly and concisely to legal and investment professionals.
* International tax experience is essential. UK tax experience is preferable but not essential.
