Vacancy for an aspiring Tax Associate with a passion for learning about R&D to join a thriving St Albans firm.

Your new company

In the year 2000, the government launched the R&D tax credit initiative to reward innovation with financial incentives. The firm immediately identified the need for straightforward, specialist advice to help businesses make the most of the opportunity, going from strength to strength, owing in part to their impressive achievement of 100% claim record, which they still retain. They formed the capital allowance service to further assist their clients make the most of their claims, and are seeking a driven, personable Tax Associate to drive their R&D work forward.

Your new role

The Tax Associate will form an integral part of a team with a passion for helping companies save on R&D credits and maintaining the firms commitment to a 100% success rate. An attention to detail and willingness to adhere to the firm's approach will be necessary for the quality control of the tax functions within the firm's product line. They will progress client enquiries through the technical function of the business to drive the target revenue of the group. This is an office based role with occasional visits to clients when needed.

Your corporation tax specialist team will employ your people skills in providing tax services to a wide range of clients across a variety of industry sectors. In addition to dealing with accountants queries and liaising with HMRC, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with R&D issues and be able to optimise claims where possible.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to collaborate with the team to drive the performance of the firm overall, which will require a candidate who is able to work as part of a wider network in addition to working alone on solo projects. The values of clear, honest and open dialogue drive the ethos of the firm, and this applies to both their client interaction and their internal projects. A strong adherence to procedure and policy will nonetheless be in tandem with the successful candidate being able to make the role their own. Qualifications are secondary to experience for this role, and as such, candidates who are qualified by experience will be considered.
