The company
FTSE 100 business based in central London, this growing London based group tax function, working across a varied portfolio of companies over 40 countries.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Corporate Tax Specialist will be responsible for dealing with several legacy HMRC enquiries, covering a range of UK corporation tax compliance topics.
The person will build a strong working relationship with the CCM at HMRC, examples of the type of enquiries to resolve are:
* Transfer pricing questions regarding business models adopted with the group, and
* additional queries regarding head office recharges
* Detailed questions around our capital allowance process
* Enquiries with respect to an R&D claim made by one of the businesses
* There are numerous other specific questions on a range of our UK businesses.
* Whilst the primary responsibility of this role will be to expedite the legacy HMRC enquires
* The role would also involve improving the corporation tax aspects of the SAO (Senior Accounting Officer) sign off for the group and developing a future proof framework for the business.
Qualifications / Skills
* Degree plus Professional Qualifications (ACA/CTA)
* Comprehensive and broad knowledge of UK corporation tax matters in the context of a large group
* Knowledge and strong experience of dealing with HMRC enquiries, and proven track
* record of being able to bring enquiries to a resolution
* Must have good interpersonal skills and cultural awareness to build working relationships
* with HMRC, advisers, and the rest of the tax team
* Ability to build strong relationship with HMRC based on
