Operational Tax Risk & Advisory

An exciting opportunity for someone who would like to make a direct contribution in managing operational tax risk within a global investment bank. The group is responsible for controlling and mitigating operational tax risk, performing a number of control / operational functions over a variety of withholding and transactional taxes generated by trading activities across multiple divisions including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Financing.

Monitor, review and sign-off on tax policy changes that affect current tax processing and communicate the operational tax implications to key stakeholders
Interpret the legislation, to provide steer on operational implementation
Create and document operational tax requirements, processes, policies and procedures
Attend industry forums where legislation and practical difficulties are being discussed

Skills / Experience
A good understanding of transactional and/or withholding tax issues
Knowledge of the banking sector and the operational tax environment
Knowledge of Stamp Duty, Transaction Taxes, Withholding Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax regimes
Able to read, understand and relay tax regulations, with the ability to analyse and
Able to identify, analyse and provide solutions to operational tax issues
A strong communicator and team player, organised, motivated and self-driven
An influencer, willing to challenge the norm and provide forward thinking ideas
Able to manage people at various levels from different teams, internally and externally
