Your new company
Hays is proud to be partnered with one of Scotland's leading independent firms of Chartered Accountants and Advisers in order to recruit for a Corporate Tax Assistant. The firm's expertise encompasses financial assurance, risk management, audit, performance improvement, taxation and wealth management. In addition to their professional acumen, they are experiencing strong and sustained business growth and enjoy a reputation for fantastic progression opportunities, and a sociable and flexible working environment.

Your new role
Joining an established Corporate Tax Team in a diverse and growing firm, you will be responsible for tax compliance for a varied portfolio. This will include gathering information from HMRC, banks, clients and other teams; preparing tax returns within designated time scales; drafting computations for review; and completing various tax related forms. Further to this, you will provide support to colleagues working on more complex compliance and advisory projects, and provide advice on tax issues to those within Accounts, Audit and Payroll Departments. You will regularly liaise with clients and monitor workload and budgets.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be degree qualified, having achieved a minimum of a 2:1. Further to this, you will be able to demonstrate strong numerical skills, great communication, both written and verbal, and a clear desire to pursue a career within tax.

Further progression will be encouraged, and encompass personally managing a portfolio of clients whilst reviewing the work of more junior staff members.
