Personal Tax Assistant Manager, Big 4 CA Firm, Edinburgh or Glasgow, up to £40,000 + benefits

Hays is proud to be partnered with a highly reputable Big 4 firm of Chartered Accountants with offices and clients across the UK and spanning the globe. It is one of the leading professional services networks in the world, delivering high quality Tax, Assurance and Advisory Services for a variety of clients, for example over 100,000 high net worth individuals and private and entrepreneurial businesses, as well as a substantial number of the Global 500. Given business growth, the firm is looking to recruit a Senior Associate (Assistant Manager) to join the Private Business Tax Team in either their Edinburgh or Glasgow office.

Your new role
Operating within the Private Business Tax Team, you will manage a portfolio of Personal Tax clients, handling basic to complex tax advisory projects in addition to developing further business. Clients include high net worth individuals and business owners and directors. You will provide advice in relation to landed estates, trusts, pensions, cash management and M&A from the personal perspective. For example, this will cover topics such as inheritance tax and capital gains tax. Working closely with your Corporate Tax counterparts within Private Business Tax, you will establish effective working relationships. You will introduce other specialists and services where appropriate, be involved in financial management, ensure work is being delivered in line with expectations and meet with client to gain a thorough understanding of their circumstances. In addition to this, you will assist with the development of more junior individuals and review their work.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have the proven ability to manage a varied client portfolio consisting of Personal Tax advisory projects. You will have strong experience within Private Client or Mixed Tax in addition to commercialism and a pro-active nature. Ideally, you will be a qualified Tax Advisor (ATT and/or CTA) and/or have undertaken ACCA, ICAS or equivalent. You will be an excellent communicator and a team player.
