A leading professional services firm are looking for a Manager to join their established Employment Tax team in Bristol. Following a string of recent client wins, the team is looking to expand considerably over the coming years and this is an exciting time to join.

You will be responsible for:
• Building and maintaining client relationships and providing high levels of client service, leading the operational delivery to clients
• Managing work in relation to a wide variety of employment tax advisory projects, from large strategic projects to risk, opportunity reviews and due diligence
• Managing employer compliance activities relating to areas such as PAYE health checks, SAO certification, "Know Your Customer" reviews, voluntary disclosures, PAYE Settlement Agreements and running projects relating to payroll advisory such as end-to-end payroll process reviews and National Minimum Wage investigations
• Managing the delivery of ad-hoc employment tax advice relating to areas such as employment status reviews, termination payments, salary sacrifice and due diligence
• Proactively dealing with engagement management aspects of project delivery including work in progress, billing and risk procedures and with consideration for the financial and commercial implications when making difficult decisions
• Coaching and developing junior colleagues

The successful candidate should have:
• Extensive experience in employment tax, preferably in practice or in HMRC
• A relevant qualification (ATT/CTA/ACA/CPA or equivalent)
• The ability to learn from experience with a drive for self-improvement
• The ability to cope under pressure, and apply sound judgement when faced with challenging decisions
• The ability to analyse problems and identify core issues
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to negotiate effectively and cross-sell services across the wider tax practice
• A thorough understanding of practical employment tax issues including payroll, social security and employment tax compliance, and ideally a familiarity with either determining employment status or National Minimum Wage compliance
