Experienced VAT Manager or VAT Senior Manager, London

The London office of this expanding accountancy firm work with UK and international SMEs and smaller quoted companies.

Slightly more than half of their corporate clients are not resident in the UK, but in Europe and the USA. Therefore, the VAT department undertakes a quite significant amount of international work, as well as in sectors such as property and a small amount of financial services.

The VAT team is looking to recruit an ambitious and experienced VAT Manager looking for a step up to Senior Manager, or a VAT Senior Manager seeking the chance to further progress their career to make Director within the medium-term.

Some experience of getting involved with business development and winning new client work is considered important for this role, as the firm is looking to hire an individual who wants to advance their career, take on responsibility and show their leadership credentials, not a safe pair of hands who just wants to mine work that is fed to them.

Of particular interest would be candidates that are familiar with providing VAT advice to clients in sectors such as technology, transport, leisure, tourism, or not-for-profit and charities, and who are confident in their existing network and therefore ability to contribute to winning new client work.

Perhaps you are currently working for a mid tier accountancy firm, or a smaller practice that nonetheless enjoys a credible client base and therefore meaty VAT requirements that you deal with on their behalf.

You are likely to be CTA qualified or qualified by experience, with VAT technical skills and career VAT knowledge that spans several industry sectors.

Your communication and relationship-building skills will of course be strong too and you will be capable of running with projects independently and operating as part of a team on other occasions when required.
