A multinational firm are looking for an Employment Tax Assistant Manager/Senior to join their established Employment Tax team in Leeds. Following a string of recent client wins, the team is looking to expand considerably over the coming years and this is an exciting time to join.
You will be responsible for:
• Building and maintaining client relationships and providing high levels of client service, leading the operational delivery to clients
• Managing work in relation to a wide variety of employment tax advisory projects, from large strategic projects to risk, opportunity reviews and due diligence
• Managing employer compliance activities including completing P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements, and assisting with other processes including employment status and termination payments
• Supporting in local market initiatives
• Taking responsibility for delivering high-quality work to clients
• Coaching and developing junior colleagues
The successful candidate should have:
• Minimum 3 years experience in employment tax, preferably in practice or in HMRC
• A relevant qualification (ATT/CTA/ACA/CPA or equivalent)
• The ability to learn from experience with a drive for self-improvement
• The ability to cope under pressure, and know when to escalate when necessary
• The ability to analyse problems and identify core issues
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A thorough understanding of practical employment tax issues including payroll, social security and employment tax compliance, and ideally a familiarity with either determining employment status or National Minimum Wage compliance
