Head of Employment Taxes, UK/ EMEA, FS, London

Head of Employment Taxes:

This large financial services firm has employees in 60 countries around the world and has a track record of financial and business success. They offer a wide array of services from smaller to larger businesses and also an individual level. Working within the London office of this firm you would be the ‘lead’ / Head of Employment Taxes and a key figure within the business for what is an increasingly high importance specialism.

With a broad Employment Taxes brief you will take responsibility for Employment Taxes, STBV / assignees to and from the region as well as the firms ‘cash benefits’; looking to manage risk and ‘savings’ opportunities for the firm whilst also being a day to day expert within the business for ad hoc enquiries and issues across the UK / EMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & Advisory Projects:

• You will take a comprehensive review of process and operations risk across the Region in relation to Employment Taxes. Managing any current and potential ‘near’ or high priority risks is a priority.
• Looking to assess strategically how the role should manage strategy and day to day operations / support moving forwards (role and team development).
• Respond to external changes/ requirements such as legislative/ regulatory changes; queries from authorities. You will manage these in tandem with the firm’s BIG 4 advisors.
• Input to wider tax strategy.
• Conduct internal stakeholder liaison to understand business priorities then work with 3rd party advisors to scope specific projects. As a part of this you will also reach out to and provide a liaison point with other regions to focus on employment tax issues. US, Asia Pac etc.
• Support the business with respect to any Tax Audits within the EMEA region that focus on Employment Tax related issues.
About You:
You will have substantial Employment Taxes experience developed either from a BIG 4 Accountancy firm or within Industry (or indeed across the 2 sectors.
You will be able to provide both top level strategic input as well as being someone happy to roll their sleeves up and grapple day to day issues.
You will ideally have a good understanding on the Financial Services Industry.
