Our Client is a multi disciplinary provider and heavily driven by acquisition, some not UK. They are looking to create a new role for a person who is driven and able to work on own initiative as part of a small tax team: Group Tax Accountant
As a result of continuing growth, the company is looking for a Group Tax Accountant to join the UK Tax and Treasury team. In this newly created role, reporting to the Group Tax Manager, the successful candidate will assist with all aspects of corporate tax compliance and reporting for the UK group of companies.
Key responsibilities for Group Tax Accountant
· Assist with preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns for 30+ companies
· Maximise claims: Capital Allowances, Group Relief, RDEC and Patent Box
· Preparation of US GAAP quarterly tax provision calculations for 15+ companies
· Preparation of UK GAAP tax provisions and disclosures for statutory financial statements
· Calculation of CTSA quarterly instalment payments
· Assist with group compliance including transfer pricing, SAO requirements, tax strategy publication
· Assist with treasury matters including dividend planning, cash management, monitoring thin cap/interest cap
· Provide ad hoc tax advice to support commercial activities and one-off transactions
· Liaise with local finance; U.S. tax, treasury and finance teams; HMRC (Large Business) and external auditors
Qualifications / Skills for Group Tax Accountant
· ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified in a corporate tax compliance role
· Proven tax compliance experience for large groups of companies
· Strong tax accounting skills knowledge of US GAAP desirable
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Experience using Alphatax software desirable
· Knowledge of VAT and PAYE compliance an advantage but not essential
This Group Tax Accountant a pivotal role within the team and would suit someone who is not afraid to get involved in many aspects of tax as well as the key responsibilities above. It would suit a person whose looking for a varied role outside of practice, but without the time sheets!
