Tax Lawyer for Front Office Advisory position, London, to £120k + bonus

Key Responsibilities:

The role will encompass reviewing transactions and new business proposals arising from the London operations of the bank. This would include, Investment Bank, Wealth Management and Asset Management divisions.

The successful candidate would be required to advise and assist front office and support staff in structuring transactions to minimise tax risk to the Bank. The advice would often concern the tax position of clients and counterparties as well as the bank itself and will frequently involve liaising with outside counsel.

The candidate would be expected to form judgements about tax risks and would have authority to determine the Group Tax approval position on many proposals as well as ensure compliance with Group Tax policies and Tax Code of Conduct.

Background & Experience:

The role requires a candidate to be a qualified lawyer and ideally have financial services tax experience.

You will need to have good stakeholder Management and Engagement skills and be able to face off to challenging individuals within the business (Traders, Front Office etc.)

Wealth Management or Investment Banking experience is preferable or if you are coming from Practice you may have Banking Industry exposure.
