We're looking for an ambitious Tax Assistant Manager to join our growing Tax Investigations team in Manchester.

You will build a good rapport with the client, with a clear understanding of client expectations and achieving high levels of client service.
You’ll prepare financial analysis and computations to support reports and other submissions to HMRC.
You will be entirely conversant with the preparation of tax computations for both individuals and corporate entities
You will be actively involved in client meetings and interactions.
You will support managers in the preparation of reports and have the capability of producing a well-supported piece of technical research.
You will seek solutions to technical issues and demonstrate a willingness to understand and recognise the breadth of possible technical issues.
You will seek to participate in business development opportunities and work with partners and managers to promote the firm's tax expertise and other services to clients and target clients both internally and externally.
You will understand the services offered by our colleagues and seek to build relationships within Grant Thornton.
You will comply with internal procedures including the completion of client take-on and keeping partners and managers informed of progress on each job.
You will mitigate risks by involving senior people and ensuring appropriate advice is sought

Education, experience and qualifications:

You will be professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CTA) or awaiting final results
You will have prior experience of working in a tax environment and possess a genuine desire to work in the Tax Investigations Team.
