Leading Big 4 firm is looking for a Senior Associate to join their successful team in Banking and Capital Markets Tax in Leeds. This is one of the world’s leading professional services organisations working with leading clients. The firm’s global network enables them to advise not only UK institutions, but also many of the largest international players.
Banking and Capital Markets Tax is a relationship based team who provide advice to a wide variety of institutions, including many of the biggest names in the market. Their client base is broad, including retail, commercial, investment, private and custody banks, as well as building societies, exchanges and boutique financial institutions. The team includes sector specialists in both direct and indirect taxes, transfer pricing, international structuring and employment taxes. They regularly advise both front office and group tax teams on a mixture of transactional and compliance issues, including M&A and innovative new ideas and structures.
The banking sector is a dynamic and fast paced environment and the firm is looking for high quality candidates, motivated by a desire to work within the sector and capable of dealing with the technical demands that this brings.
The recent uptick in transactional activity, coupled with various sector specific tax and structural issues, have triggered strong demand for the firm’s services in the market. The team have growth objectives and successful candidates will have good potential for career development.
Skills required:
- ACA/ATT/CTA or equivalent
- Interest in the banking sector
- Confident with accounting concepts (ideally including tax accounting)
Banking specific experience would be a bonus, but not essential (particularly for a candidate without a tax background). Tax experience is not necessary but the successful candidate should have demonstrable technical skills in current role and a clear interest in a career in tax.
