Your new company

I'm working with a business who's vision is to be the most trusted expert in global financial markets. The Group operates through four key business divisions; Capital Markets, Post Trade, Global Technology Services and Information Services.

Reporting to the a Senior Tax Manager and principally focused on Group's UKs businesses, the role will entail UK Corporate Tax and VAT Compliance & Reporting, supporting ad-hoc tax queries, managing outsourced tax compliance in a number of overseas jurisdictions and providing assistance as required to other members of the tax department.

Your new role

* Preparation of the UK perimeter Corporation Tax returns and assisting with the preparations of sales/VAT tax returns.
* Assisting the Group Tax manager with the preparation of UK R&D tax relief claims.
* Drafting responses to HMRC queries in respect of submitted computations.
* Review of transfer pricing compliance and implementing additional documentation and procedures as necessary.
* Maintenance of SAO files and information.
* Completion of tax treaty clearances.
* Preparing and reporting of accurate tax numbers in a timely manner for internal forecasting purposes and month end reporting purposes and for the annual Group consolidated accounts and quarterly press releases, including balance sheet substantiation.
* Provision of financial information to overseas outsourced tax compliance providers to enable the Group to meet its overseas filing deadlines.
* Preparation of UK quarterly payment on account calculations.
* Identification and implementation of improvements to processes and procedures to improve tax efficiencies.
* Assisting UK company's overseas subsidiaries with the completion of their tax compliance obligations and management of the external advisors who complete the and file the returns
* Assisting other members of the tax department with ad-hoc queries

What you'll need to succeed

* Strong tax background, qualified accountant/tax advisor (ACA/ACCA/CTA) or equivalent. Knowledge of VAT useful but not essential.
* The candidate should demonstrate good attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in explaining complex tax matters to non with non-tax personnel, be proactive, with a high degree of drive and determination and a desire to improve and learn new skills outside of their comfort zone. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders and other team members.
* Pro-active behaviour that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
* Utilises all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensures the most appropriate solution is identified.
* Maximises opportunities; i.e. challenges ways of working, adopts Group practices, seeks and provides information and clarification.
* Strong planning and prioritising according to business needs.
