Our client, a respected Law Firm based in London, seeks an ACA/ACCA and/or ATT/CTA qualified tax specialist to join their Private Client Tax & Investigations Group. The work of the group involves:
Dealing with general private client matters.
Advising non UK domiciliaries
HMRC enquiries and tax investigations.
Providing small amounts of corporate tax support
Dealing with Code of Practice 8&9 and criminal investigations.
Dealing with large tax disputes.
Advising on Offshore tax matters.
Corporate tax structuring and re-structuring.
The role will include;
Drafting and completing disclosure reports for HMRC and for clients.
Undertaking detailed tax analysis.
Meeting HMRC and client deadlines.
Analysing tax planning and business structures to identify risks/opportunities.
Assisting the team with detailed tax forensic work.
Analysing and interpreting complex financial statements and accounting practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Tax Partner and should have a minimum of 3 years' experience. This experience may be in a mixed tax, corporate tax or personal tax capacity however it will ideally include an element of tax investigation work. You must also have a relevant accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA).
You must also be able to work well under pressure and enjoy the responsibility of handling things on your own from an early stage. You should therefore be confident, sociable and self-motivated and enjoy direct exposure to clients. You will also be expected to take an active interest in marketing and business development both for the group and across the firm.
