VAT Senior Manager / Director - Glasgow

Change Public Practice are working with a highly reputable Chartered Accountancy practice in Glasgow to assist them with the continual growth and development of their Indirect Tax team. This firm, based in Glasgow City Centre, are looking for an experience and senior VAT/indirect tax specialist to head up and lead this team which provides VAT services across all of Scotland. Applications and conversations will be welcome from experienced Managers, Senior Managers and Directors.

This role will involve managing and developing your own portfolio, managing the indirect tax team and business development opportunities. This team works with a variety of organisations across multiple sectors and the role will focus on a range of compliance and consulting type queries covering a range of supply chain scenarios often spanning more than one tax jurisdiction.

Responsibilities:

· Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
· Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations
· Actively focus on winning new business by proactively managing existing clients and identifying new business opportunities in the market
· Manage the successful delivery of tax projects ensuring technical excellence
· Responsible for day-to-day delivery of client liaison
· Managing your own portfolio of clients
· Be involved in the day-to-day management of the team

Requirements:

· Minimum of 8 years’ VAT / Indirect Tax experience gained from a similar environment i.e. Big 4 / Top 10 etc. would be preferred but other relevant industries and experience will also be considered
· Ideally hold a professional accountancy qualification i.e. CTA / ATT / CA or equivalent
· Excellent client relationship building and management skills are essential
· Must be client focused and commercially aware
· Must have strong team management experience
