* To play a key role and support the global tax manager in developing the group's indirect tax guidelines, and in educating internal and external stakeholders on tax matters, optimising benefits gained and minimising risk
* Manage the service relationship with the external tax service provider on an operational level. Review services for indirect tax payments, tax compliance reporting and VAT returns on a regular basis, ensuring compliance issues are flagged and actioned as necessary
* Project manage tax audits and investigations by tax authorities with external providers, globally
* Act as first point of contact and manage query resolution for all indirect tax matters, identifying training requirements and delivering training to the wider team where required
* Review business changes to identify the impact for indirect tax accounting and returns. Project manage the indirect tax due diligence for international business development, and provide advice on investments, M&A, strategic projects and indirect tax aspects of intercompany and 3rd party contracts
* Monitor global indirect tax policies in strategic markets and manage the communication of changes. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Transfer Pricing documentation
* Manage the timely update of indirect tax and transfer pricing related master data on a monthly basis and manage tax configuration changes with Business Systems and CCH/Wolters Klywer

Qualifications

Desired:
* Experience in and strong knowledge of various indirect tax regimes including UK / US and international VAT issues and sales taxes and other taxes such as property and environmental tax
* Experience of executing or reviewing indirect tax accounting and returns
* Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy whilst meeting strict deadlines
* Ability to communicate confidently & effectively (business, service providers, auditors)

Essential:
* Relevant degree
* Accounting or tax qualified
* 5+ years of relevant indirect tax accounting experience in practice and finance function in a global, complex company
