The Special Projects Manager plays a pivotal role within the Audit department here within Grant Thornton UK LLP.

you'll be responsible for providing crucial finance outsourcing solutions to clients (including Finance Controller and Management Accounts services) ensuring that all work exceeds the expectations of clients and partners
you'll seek out new assignments through business development activity and assists in the production and presentation of proposals for new work
you'll organise and attend office marketing events, be aware of the wider range of services the firm offers and suggests innovative products to address the clients' needs
you'll be responsible for managing key client portfolio and building and maintaining good working relationships with all colleagues and clients
you'll be responsible for managing teams on specific assignments, with specific line management responsibility for a group of staff to ensure work is appropriately completed to satisfy objectives.

Education, experience and qualifications:

you'll be professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA)
you'll have post-qualified experience in audit within practice, or extensive industry experience in a finance role
you will also enjoy seeking out new work, building relationships and not shy away from meeting people you haven’t met before
ideally you'll have strong knowledge of compliance and regulation, in particular IFRS, FRS 101, FRS 102
ideally you'll have a keen interest in engaging with and supporting clients with complex financial reporting matters such as HFI engagements
you’ll have strong people skills and be able to build strong relationships with clients, targets and colleagues
you'll have the ability to support and mentor team members.
