Your new company is one of Wales leading utilities providers. This organisation is part of a wider group which operate globally in the utilities market.


Your new role
Your new job as Tax controller for the organisation is varied and challenging. This role reports directly into the Head of tax and treasury and engages frequently with the senior management team in finance.

This role outlined ;-

* To ensure best practice compliance for direct and indirect tax statutory obligations
* To ensure that the tax control environment is always fit for purpose, supporting the wider finance team as appropriate in related areas, e.g. tax accounting, tax forecasting, internal audit reviews
* To provide current and deferred tax information for inclusion in monthly, quarterly, annual and budgetary reporting and support statutory and regulatory tax disclosures.

Core Responsibilities :

1 Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant tax legislation, covering Corporation Tax, VAT, P11D dispensation, PSA and any related PAYE matters and Construction industry Tax Deduction Scheme obligations
2 Ensure accurate tax accounting for statutory accounts (UK GAAP/FRS 102) and reporting to group (IFRS)
3 Ensure ongoing compliance with all tax policies
4 Take ownership of the tax control environment and proactively keep it fit for purpose
5 Accurate tax position for internal monthly, quarterly & budgetary reporting

Key specific tasks :

1 Maintain up to date knowledge of all related taxes and advise accordingly
2 Corporation tax and VAT: timely and accurate production and submission of all returns and tax computations, and handling any queries from HMRC ; liaise with relevant finance staff, and other staff, to ensure accurate accounting thereof
3 Timely and accurate preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly forecast tax reports to group
4 Support statutory and regulatory tax amounts and dislosures
5 Oversight of Construction Industry Tax Deduction Scheme ; effective engagement and support for the relevant department heads involved

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this job you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA , ACCA, CIMA) You will have significant PQE in a tax related role. You will have shown longevity in your CV and held positions for a solid duration. It would be advantageous if you have specific tax qualifications and a good accountancy exam record, however this is not essential.


What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive salary of £75,000 per annum. With the potential to work a 4 day week on a pro rata`d salary of £60,000 if required. You will also receive a great benefits package which will be explained in full upon application.
