Our client is one of the world's leading wholesale providers of reinsurance, insurance and other innovative forms of insurance-based risk transfer. Due to internal restructuring, they now require an EMEA Indirect Tax Manager for join their London team.
You will be a member of Group Tax, specifically providing support to the Head of EMEA and Indirect Tax. The candidate will work closely with the EMEA and DACH Tax teams, Group Tax Operations team, Transfer Pricing team, Finance, and other colleagues across the Group.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Support the Head of EMEA and Indirect Tax in delivery of all Europe, African and Middle East indirect tax services including advice, policies, planning, training and strategies
* Support the indirect tax team to ensure work is organised and undertaken effectively and efficiently
* Manage relationship with key stakeholders
* Identify and implement indirect tax optimisation opportunities
* Assess new legislation and case law for applicability to the Group and communicate changes and related potential impacts to the business
* Communicate key indirect tax issues clearly and concisely to non-tax specialists
* Identify and evaluate key indirect tax risks within the Group, ensuring effective risk management processes are operated and reported
* Manage the European indirect tax impact for international business development, and provide advice on large transactions, strategic projects, and indirect tax aspects of intercompany and 3rd party contracts
Requirements include:
* Have considerable indirect tax advisory and compliance experience in practice or within the tax team of a global financial services company, with insurance experience preferred
* Tax or accounting qualified
* Self-starter, capable of identifying tax and system efficiencies
* Strong project management skills, able to implement and execute large projects
* Experienced in providing VAT support on international VAT issues
* Experienced in indirect tax compliance and reviewing indirect tax returns
* Ability to communicate confidently, concisely, and effectively with business partners, tax colleagues, tax authorities and auditors
