Audit Transformation Lead, Grant Thornton, UK

To lead the expansion and integration of the transformational audit programme (Pioneer), which involves leading a team to implement a practice wide technology backed solution which will improve the quality and efficiency of the audit work performed. This a unique role in the market offering a qualified and experienced individual from a client facing audit background the opportunity to deepen their technical knowledge and stakeholder relationships outside of an external client facing role with considerable opportunities for career progression.

Working closely with the Operations Lead in Belfast and the partner responsible for CAST you will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the programme and its strategic goals.

What you'll be doing

you'll lead a team of individuals encompassing those both experienced in accounting and audit, as well as software development
you'll bring a wealth of auditing standards knowledge to play to provide both technical and practical experience in designing business processes
you'll design and provide technical and practical training to the audit practice within the scope of the project
you'll be provided with the opportunity to develop yourself and team members and build relationships with the firms’ wider leadership team
you'll ensure that the key strategic goals of the project are met
you'll oversee the smooth day to day running of the programme
you'll be an integral part of the core team, that uses their oversight to foresee potential hurdles and set in place actions to overcome them
you'll ensure that key stakeholders are kept up to date and that effective two way communication is in place
you'll ensure that key areas of focus are kept on track and that the Audit service line remains one of the key strategic drivers
you'll people manage other members of the programme team
you'll engage with the audit practice on all levels in order to ensure buy in and that resource is routed to key projects/physical locations when required
you'll ensure that management information and progress updates are meaningful and are available on a timely basis
you'll ensure that the true costs of the programme are captured in order to be able to prove the success of the transformation
you'll provide support, sector knowledge and insight to the Development Lead

Education, skills and experience:

you'll hold a professional accountancy qualification and have at least 3 years PQE
you'll be educated to degree level or equivalent
you'll be experienced in managing client facing audits
you'll be experienced in interpreting auditing standards
you'll be independently minded and willing to challenge existing business practice
you'll have proven relationship building skills with a particular ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation in a diplomatic and robust manner
you'll be highly motivated and organised
you'll have demonstrated a highly professional approach to work and delivery of high quality results
you'll have project leadership skills and ability to prioritise
you'll have demonstrated effective delegation skills with ownership of outcome
you'll be adaptable, flexible and able to work under pressure
you'll be proactive in the continuous development
you'll have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
