The Central Audit Services Team is a key operational unit within Grant Thornton UK LLP and a crucial part of our expanding internal operations, delivering first-class operational support to both internal and external clients

As a Central Audit Services Team (CAST) Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role within this unit, leading and developing CAST to ensure that the operational performance and delivery of the team match (or exceed) the goals and KPIs which are in place, within a modern support service environment.

Operations and results

Manage the operational performance of your team to ensure compliance with key performance indicators and service level agreements (SLAs).
Understand the commercial and budgetary aspects of the operation and play a key role in managing and controlling budgets.
Understand and apply best practice regarding departmental procedures, risk management and compliance.
Understand ethical considerations and apply these to process and operational decisions.
Implement and oversee quality and accuracy audits within the department and ensure the collation, analysis and distribution of appropriate reporting, analysis and action planning.
Drive product and service development and instigate and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department, managing these initiatives in a positive and effective way.
Prepare and deliver to the Senior Management Team detailed regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis of the team's operational performance.
Create and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the wider business and use these relationships to increase awareness of CAST and its role within Grant Thornton.
Any other duties as required by the business from time to time.

Manage and mentor the Team Managers to ensure that the department follows established procedures for each process, including adhering to agreed key performance indicators, compliance and risk requirements, SLAs and quality standards to maximise accuracy of service.
Is proactive in understanding career goals of others and supporting them.
Challenges others to achieve their full potential. Assists with identifying development needs of people.
Coaches and mentors team members, identifying and dealing with performance issues in a timely manner.
Ensures that team members receive regular feedback on their performance.
Carries out timely job reviews and appraisal for staff as required, ensure paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
Ensures own appraisals take place and objectives are achieved.
Creates and leads an environment of continuous learning and development.
Actively takes the lead in helping others to improve and pursue their careers.
Sets clear and stretching goals and objectives within the department/team and leads the team to deliver those.

Clients

Play a key role in the successful implementation and development of stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
Where necessary, manage internal and external complaints to successful conclusion and undertake root cause analysis and improvement actions to minimise reoccurrence.
Able to apply technical knowledge appropriately in the context of individual internal stakeholders and displays both skill and speed in resolving problems or complaints.

Markets

Proactively contributes to the department’s internal communications.
Has good understanding of the Assurance market and current developments.
Has good network of contacts both internally and externally and maintains this network.
