A transatlantic corporate and investment bank offering products and services across investment banking and wealth management. A strong presence in two home markets of the UK and the US. The bank is based in Canary Wharf.
You will be involved in providing tax SME support to the Private Bank business in relation to their product offerings and interactions with clients. The successful candidate will therefore be involved in working with the business to review, oversee and manage issues on products and services from a client tax risk management perspective; as such, the role may involve ongoing development of an effective risk management framework for client tax risk.
You will work alongside one other VP in the Tax function supporting the business. The remit of the role is potentially very wide, covering tax issues for client in the UK and offshore locations; as such, the role may also involve supporting the business to procure advice from, and to work with, third parties to manage tax .
You will have a strong background and experience in a similar role, either at a law firm, in another Bank, or in a professional services firm. A good knowledge of a typical Private Bank business, and technical expertise in the tax issues related to the product and service offering of such a business. A good track record in client tax risk management and control. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to manage demanding stakeholders. Ideally a private client lawyer preferred, with 5 years + PQE, or ACA & CTA.
