This business is diverse both from a product and geographical perspective, so there will be significant technical challenge in the role. The group provides goods and services to a very wide client base, and you will be expected to lead on all compliance and advisory issues across EMEA and Asia-Pac.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
* Develop and manage a centralised VAT compliance function, consistent with the group's shared service approach;
* Evaluate business and corporate strategies for VAT efficiency, participate in decision making and deployment of strategies;
* Identify opportunities to improve VAT cash flow and maximise VAT recovery;
* Deploy strong processes and internal controls to manage indirect tax risks and exposures, both in centralised and de-centralised VAT operations;
* Support business operations in VAT matters, working closely with tax colleagues, business and corporate groups;
* Manage and/or support tax authority VAT audits, in collaboration with field operations;
* Maintain network of external contacts to enable informal benchmarking and sharing of ideas
In order to make the most of this opportunity, you will need to be a qualified VAT specialist with experience of working in multinational groups with complex, cross-border business arrnagements involving international services and movement of goods.
