The Private Equity (PE) Funds Tax Group at Deloitte offers an exciting opportunity to work in one of the most dynamic industries, in one of the leading financial centres in the world, at a time of significant change. The group consists of a team of well-established tax specialists who work more or less exclusively with private equity fund clients. The group has a distinctive role within the Deloitte Tax Practice, enabling links with M&A, audit and corporate finance professionals within the firm and right across our global network. This enables us to provide our clients with comprehensive compliance and advisory services supporting them with the operation of their structures and any changes required, whilst ensuring they meet all reporting, filing and regulatory obligations with the relevant authorities.

The PE Funds Group advises our clients across a wide range of issues from initial fund structuring, through acquisitions and disposals and ultimately the completion of tax returns for both corporates and partnerships.

Our clients are entrepreneurial by nature which provides the opportunity to advise across a diverse range of taxes and gain a detailed understanding of their business.
A role within the PE Funds group will include a comprehensive array of duties ranging from the completion of tax returns both corporate and partnerships, to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax considerations.

You will also have the opportunity to advise UK and international clients on transactional, Fund and personal tax issues. The different projects that you will be managing will ensure that you are challenged on a daily basis.

Requirements

Whilst not limited to, we look for the following criteria:

- UK corporate and/or partnership tax experience gained from an in house role within a financial institution or from an accountancy/legal/advisory firm;
- An ACA or CTA qualification or equivalent;
- Previous Private Equity experience either with corporate, partnership or personal tax aspects desirable;
- A flexible and adaptable approach and a facility for working with source legislation and practice;
- An understanding of the tax legislation applicable to private equity funds and their managers and in applying the law to private equity structures and operations;
- Strong communication and written skills;
- The ability to understand complex structures and apply your knowledge across a range of taxes;
- The ability to manage a portfolio of clients and projects as well as managing junior staff so that you become the key client contact;
- The ability to work closely with clients developing strong relationships and applying practical and commercial concepts to technical work;
- The ability to work in a team and develop those working to you; and
- The desire and motivation to advance your career in Private Equity and a pro-active approach to managing your clients, the generation of new ideas and to business development.
