My client is a well-regarded, highly successful independent accountancy firm in Leeds. This firm is looking for a Business Tax Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects and clients in a business tax environment, i.e. advising Entrepreneurs and their businesses, and property owners. They will manage a team of staff in instructing them on preparing advice and talk to clients in understanding the facts at hand and providing advice to the client in verbal and written format. Liaising with the Partner, to take instructions and reporting back.
The clients will typically be £1m to £20m businesses and some examples of the work involved is:-
• Share restructuring
• Implementation of share option schemes
• Structuring the sale and acquisition of businesses
• Structuring the sale and acquisition of property
• Remuneration planning for shareholder / directors
• Tax Investigations
• Overseas aspects
• Staff benefits
There is scope for the successful candidate to progress to the senior management team of the firm and onto Partner, if they are ambitious and willing to learn and develop. This is a dynamic firm, encouraging a good work life balance, and they want all their staff to progress and develop.
The candidate should have tax experience or could come from an accounting background, if they have an interest in tax, and are a qualified accountant. Study support will be available for the CTA qualification if the candidate does not already have this qualification, as the firm are dedicated to the continued professional development of their staff.
