An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Real Estate Fund Tax Specialist to join our client, an FS Institute based in London

Key responsibilities of the Role will include:

- Providing hands on tax support to the EMEA Real Estate team with respect to the EMEA managed real estate funds, their investments plus any client queries relating to the taxation of these products.
- Responsibility for new product launch tax work and ongoing tax oversight for the EMEA Real Estate funds and entities associated with those funds
- Oversight and input into the tax due diligence on selected investments to be held by the funds
- Support client relations and sales & marketing teams with client communications (including potential investors)
- Liaise closely with other members of the global Product Tax team responsible for Real Estate funds outside of EMEA (located in the US and Hong Kong)

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes/skills:

- In depth knowledge of Real Estate fund taxation in Europe
- Understanding of fund entities and holding structures used in Europe for Real Estate funds and their investments
- Indicative 5+ years experience of real estate fund taxation
- This is a high exposure role, involving much direct contact with the Real Estate team, and some end clients. The product range is often highly challenging in tax technical terms.

Accordingly, it is important that the role holder:

- Is highly conversant with the subject area
- Is able to communicate complex tax issues clearly and concisely, in a manner targeted at a wide range of different audiences
- Is a credible and well presented professional tax adviser
- Has the interpersonal skills to work effectively within a large in house tax team (including with colleagues in the US and Asia Pacific)
- Is able to meet tight time deadlines and perform effectively under time pressure.
