The Group Tax function has fifteen members, the majority being based at the operational head quarters in Essex. The department’s focus is to; assist the Group in meeting all relevant filing obligations in the jurisdictions in which it operates, reduce potential exposures to tax penalties and interest, co-ordinate and provide tax advice to the business operations, and organise the Group’s affairs tax efficiently.
As the EMEA Tax Manager, you will take responsibility for advising business operations on a wide variety of issues and projects across the Region. Furthermore, you will support the team with UK planning and global projects. These will include; M&A transactions, tax controversy, reorganisations and transfer pricing.
Duties will include:
• Help deliver strategic tax advice to the business operations within the EMEA region
• Supporting commercial teams with tax input on bids and contracts
• First point of contact to the business on direct, indirect and employment tax queries
• Assist with tax controversy
• Assist with the year end and interim tax reporting process
• Assist with the review and monitoring of tax risks and controls
• Assist with cash and reserves repatriation
• Assist with group reorganisations and restructuring
• Assist with tax efficiently funding operations
• Participate in special projects.
About you:
• ICAEW/ICAS qualified
• CTA qualified preferred, but not essential
• Proven UK direct tax background
• Strong awareness of tax accounting
• Exposure to corporate tax advisory projects
• Big 4 training preferred
• Able to discuss tax technical matter in plain language.
